Great gathering at colloquium in honour of Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker [20.10.10]
On Friday 8th of October around 100 people attended the colloquium in honour of Prof. Dr. Klaus Becker. The event was openend by welcome words of the deputy dean of the faculty of agriculture, Prof. Dr. Fangmeier, the director of the department of animal husbandry in the tropics and subtropcis, Prof. Valle-Zaráte and Prof. Cadisch, the director of the centre for agriculture in the tropics and subtropics. Prof. em. Dr. Christian F. Gall was leading through the progarmme.In his keynote Dr. Rosenthal, German hydrobiologist and fisheries scientist known for his work in aquaculture, ecology and international ooperation gave an indepth summary on the "Potential of aquaculture to contribute towards future food security“.
His interesting talk was followed by six laudatory contributions:

Dr. Christian Schlechtriem: „Replacement of fish oil and fish meal in aquaculture diets, and potential implications for flesh quality in fish“
Dr. Georg Francis: „From alternative nutritional sources to new plant resource systems”
The casual get-together after the official programme was lively and well attended.
