Foundation fiat panis

The Foundation fiat panis is supporting scientific research since January 2011, succeeding the former Eiselen-Stiftung.

The foundation awards the following prizes: The Justus von Liebig award for food security, the Joseph G. Knoll Science Award and the Hans H. Ruthenberg award. For more details please see annoucements here.

The foundation also supports young students to do their research thesis in developping countries.

Protus

Vision

PROTUS (Association for the Promotion of Teaching and Research for the Tropics and Subtropics at the University of Hohenheim e.V.) is a young non-profit organization created to promote teaching and research for the Tropics and Subtropics at the University of Hohenheim. With its members´ motivation and experience and with its funding, PROTUS expands the frame of activities addressing international matters. PROTUS connects people who wish to share information and knowledge within and beyond the University of Hohenheim. PROTUS promotes students early in their career and helps exploring their future options.

Projects and Activities

PROTUS is active in: fostering networks and supporting alumni activities supporting study programs of the University of Hohenheim with focus on the Tropics and Subtropics supporting students of those study programs with logistics and infra-structure as well as in publishing scientific work supporting scientific colloquia on topics related to Tropics and Subtropics supporting the activities of the Tropenzentrum of the University of Hohenheim.

Ressources

PROTUS depends to a major extent on contributions of its members such as motivation, knowledge, contacts and experience. PROTUS´ potential impact is based on financial contributions from its members and donations from external sources. Joining Protus Any interested person is very welcome to join and support PROTUS in its activities. The membership fee, which is tax deductible, is 10 € per annum for students and 20 € for other members. Juristic persons or specific donors are invited to negotiate an appropriate contribution. We present ourselves in diverse campus activities such as Dies Academicus or with our international End-of-term and New-Years Parties.
