Student Excursion: Land use systems of rural INDIA  [23.03.26]

We are pleased to announce the student excursion “Land use systems of rural INDIA” taking place from 25th September to 9th October 2026. The excursion offers MSc students a guided, on-site experience in tropical regions, combining theoretical knowledge with practical field observations. Together with the participants, the interdisciplinary team of experts will reflect on tropical agro-ecosystems from the perspectives of geosciences, ecology, plant and animal farming systems, as well as the socio-economic dynamics, value chains, rural development, and natural resource management.

Key information:

  • Open to: Master students (AgriTropics, AgEcon and related programs)
  • Participants: max. 20 students
  • Contribution: €1000 (approx. one-third of total costs)
  • Students applying to participate are required to join module 4907-490 “Excursion to the Tropics and Subtropics” (summer semester 2026)
  • Application deadline: 10 April 2026 via ILIAS
